Settings:

App Settings

Whenever the Info button is touched the settings view is displayed. From this view you have the option to navigate to the About view; navigate to the Backup / Restore view or adjust various settings that control how the App functions.

Backup (AirDrop)

New Backup (AirDrop)

This new functionality replaced the older Backup / Restore feature. Using AirDrop to backup your data does not require you to connect your device to your computer or iTunes. This new backup now includes the photos that are associated with your cars.

AirDrop

Touch Backup (AirDrop) in order to make a backup. If there are AirDrop compatable devices near by, you will be able to select the device to AirDrop your backup to this device. You may also e-mail a backup to yourself or someone else.

AutoLog and AutoLogLE

AirDrop also allows your to transfer your data from AutoLogLE to the full version of AutoLog. You can also transfer data from AutoLog to AutoLogLE, but only the first car in the database is displayed in AutoLogLE.

Please be sure to make frequent backups of your data! You should always make a backup before installing an update and alway update one device at a time.

Descending Order

Service and Trip entries can be displayed in Descending order or Ascending order.

Descending Order is enabled when the switch is in the On position. When the switch is in the Off postion Descending Order is disabled and Ascending order is enabled.

Show Archived

The Show Archived switch determines if archived cars are displayed or hidden.

Archived cars are displayed when the switch is in the On position.

Archived cars are not displayed when the switch is in the Off postion.

Use Pickers

This switch controls the use of Picker Wheels or Number Pads for the entry of numeric data. The Picker Wheels are an interesting effect, but really slow down the data entry process. Use of Number Pads on the other hand is much quicker.

Picker Wheels are enabled when the switch is in the On position.

Picker Wheels are disabled when the switch is in the Off postion and Number Pads are displayed instead.

Metric

This option allow the user to determine if the App will consider the units to be in Metric or in Inch.

Unit Cost = Gallons

This setting controls how the App will interpret the Unit Cost data field on the Service tab. By default the App interprets the Unit Cost field to be currency. When running reports related to fuel the Cost is divided by the Unit Cost in order to determine total gallons or liters of fuel purchased. Some users indicated that they would rather enter the quantity of fuel purchased and not the Unit Cost. When this switch is set to ON then the App exspects you to enter the quantity of fuel purchased and not the Unit Cost.

Please not that this is a global setting. Once set, all data entered or previously entered is treated according to the current setting. So if you previously entered Unit Costs and then change this setting, you will also need to update those previously entered data. Otherwise the calculations on the report will not be correct.
