Managing your Pets:

Manage Pets

 

The Pets tab is used to create, edit and manage your pets. You must create at least one pet before you can create Medical or Event entries using the respective tabs.

Once you have created one or more pets, you will be able to select, edit and manage your pets using this tab. The Name, Breed, Weight and Birth Date fields are displayed on the Pets tab. This will help you to select the correct pet to review or edit. In addition a photo of each pet may be added. A check mark is displayed next to a record in order to indicate the selected pet.

Adding a Pet

 

The first step to using myPetCare is to add a pet. Once at least one pet has been added, you can then add Medical and Event data for the pet.

Touch the Add Button in order to begin the process of adding a pet. The Add Pet view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a pet. Touch each data field in order to enter new data. All data entered is automatically save to the database.

Edit a Pet

 

To Edit a pet simply select the pet that you would like to edit from the Pets tab. The Edit Pet tab will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with the pet. Touch each data field that you would like to edit and enter new data. All data entered is automatically save to the database.

Touch on the envelope Email Button to e-mail pet information. Enter the target e-mail address and change and/or add any other desired information before sending the e-mail.

Delete a Pet

 

To delete a Pet entry swipe your finger across the Pet that you would like to delete starting at the right-hand side of the row. The Delete button will be displayed. If you want to continue deleting the Pet touch the Delete button.

If you selected the wrong Pet, don't worry because you can cancel the delete by swiping across the trip again.

Touching the Delete All button will delete the selected Pet record. Please be careful because this action cannot be undone and the data record will be permanently deleted from the database.

Don't worry if you selected the incorrect Pet, simply touch the Cancel button and the delete action will be cancelled.

Note that on the iPad that a Cancel button is not displayed. Touching anywhere outside of the the pop-over dialog will cancel the delete process.

Managing Medical Details:

Manage Medical Details

 

The Medical tab is used to create, edit and manage all medical related information for a specific pet. You must create at least one pet before you can create and manage Medical information.

Once you have created at least one pet, you will be able to create, edit and manage Medical detail records for each pet using this tab. The Service Date and Description field data are used to create the individual record keys that are displayed on the Service tab. This will help you to select the correct service record to review or edit.

Manage the Status for Medical Details

 

Once you have created Providers, Medications, Vaccinations or Conditions you are able to toggle their respective status between active and inactive by touching the check icon for the item. Whenever the item is active the check will appear green.

When an item is inactive or unchecked, the check will be gray. There can only be one active provider for each category. However Medications, Vaccinations and Conditions allow multiple items to be active at the same time.

Manage Providers:

Add Provider

 

myPetCare allows the management of serveral different Providers for each pet and each is displayed under the Provider Details section on the Medical tab.

The Providers are Veterinarian, Clinic, Groomer and Day Car. Providers are selected from your Address book. If the Provider does not exist you have the option to create a new Provider, which creates a new contact in your address book. This new contact can then be referenced.

Several Providers may be selected or created for each of the above provider categories, however myPetCare only supports haaving one active or primary Provider. The primary Provider in each category will be displayed in the appropriate section on the Medical Tab.

Edit Provider

 

myPetCare allows the management of serveral different Providers for each pet and each is displayed under the Provider Details section on the Medical tab.

When editing Providers you are actually updating the Provider entry that exists within the Address book on your device.

Delete Provider

 

To delete a Provider entry you must first select the Provider. Once on the specific Provider's detail tab, you may then swipe your finger across the Provider that you would like to delete. The Delete button will be displayed. If you want to continue deleting the Provider touch the Delete button.

If you selected the wrong Provider, don't worry because you can cancel the delete action by swiping across the Provider again.

Touching the Delete button will delete the selected Provider record. Please be careful because this action cannot be undone and the data record will be permanently deleted from the database.

Don't worry if you selected the incorrect Provider, simply touch the Cancel button and the delete action will be cancelled.

Note that on the iPad that a Cancel button is not displayed. Touching anywhere outside of the the pop-over dialog will cancel the delete process.

Manage Medication:

Add Medication

 

Touch the Add Button in order to begin the process of adding a Medication. The Add Medication view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a Medication. Touch each data field in order to enter new data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Edit Medication

 

Touch a medication in order to begin the process of editing a Medication. The Edit Medication view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a Medication. Touch each data field in order to change the data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Delete Medication

 

To delete a Medication swipe your finger across the Medication that you would like to delete. The Delete button will be displayed. If you want to continue deleting the Medication touch the Delete button.

Touching the Delete button will delete the selected Medication record. Please be careful because this action cannot be undone and the data record will be permanently deleted from the database.

Don't worry if you selected the incorrect Medication, simply touch the Cancel button and the delete action will be cancelled.

Note that on the iPad that a Cancel button is not displayed. Touching anywhere outside of the the pop-over dialog will cancel the delete process.

Manage Vaccinations:

Add a Vaccination

 

Touch the Add Button in order to begin the process of adding a Vaccination. The Add Vaccination view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a Vaccination. Touch each data field in order to enter new data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Edit a Vaccination

 

Touch a Vaccination in order to begin the process of editing a Vaccination. The Edit Vaccination view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a Vaccination. Touch each data field in order to change the data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Delete a Vaccination

 

To delete a Vaccination swipe your finger across the Vaccination that you would like to delete. The Delete button will be displayed. If you want to continue deleting the Vaccination touch the Delete button.

Touching the Delete button will delete the selected Vaccination record. Please be careful because this action cannot be undone and the data record will be permanently deleted from the database.

Manage Conditions:

Add a Condition

 

Touch the Add Button in order to begin the process of adding a Condition Event entry. The Add Event view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a Condition Event. Touch each data field in order to enter new data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Edit a Condition

 

Touch an existing Event in order to begin the Edit Event process. The Edit Event view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a event. Touch each data field in order to edit the exisiting data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Delete a Condition

 

To delete a Condition Event entry swipe your finger across the Condition Event that you would like to delete. The Delete button will be displayed. If you want to continue deleting the Condition Event touch the Delete button.

If you selected the wrong Condition Event, don't worry because you can cancel the delete by swiping across the Event again.

Touching the Delete button will delete the selected Condition Event record. Please be careful because this action cannot be undone and the data record will be permanently deleted from the database.

Manage Insurance Providers:

Add Insurance Provider

 

myPetCare allows the management of serveral different Providers for each pet and an Insurer is just another type of Provider. The information about an Insurer is detailed in the Insurance Details section on the Medical tab. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

The Insurance Providers are selected from your Address book. If the Provider does not exist you have the option to create a new Provider, which creates a new contact in your address book. This new contact can then be referenced.

Several Providers may be selected or created for the Insurance Provider, however myPetCare only supports having one active or primary Provider. The primary Provider in each category will be displayed in the Insurance Details section on the Medical Tab.

Managing Events:

Add an Event

 

Touch the Add Button in order to begin the process of adding an Event entry. The Add Event view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with an Event. Touch each data field in order to enter new data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Edit an Event

 

Touch an existing Event in order to begin the Edit Event process. The Edit Event view will be displayed containing all of the data fields associated with a event. Touch each data field in order to edit the exisiting data. All changes are automatically saved to the database.

Delete an Event

 

To delete an Event entry swipe your finger across the Event that you would like to delete. The Delete button will be displayed. If you want to continue deleting the Event touch the Delete button.

All Pets Mode

 

By default the Events entry tab displays events related to the currently active pet only. Touching the All Pets Button changes this functionality and changes the display to show event data for all pets that you have created.

Touch the All Pets button a second time in order to toggle the mode back to the default, single pet display mode.

Settings:

App Settings

 

Whenever the Info button is touched the settings view is displayed. From this view you have the option to navigate to the About view; navigate to the Backup / Restore view or adjust various settings that control how the App functions.

Backup (AirDrop)

 

New Backup (AirDrop)

This new functionality replaced the older Backup / Restore feature. Using AirDrop to backup your data does not require you to connect your device to your computer or iTunes. This new backup now includes the photos that are associated with your pets.

AirDrop

Touch Backup (AirDrop) in order to make a backup. If there are AirDrop compatable devices near by, you will be able to select the device to AirDrop your backup to this device. You may also e-mail a backup to yourself or someone else.

myPetCare and myPetCareLE

AirDrop also allows your to transfer your data from myPetCareLE to the full version of myPetCare. You can also transfer data from myPetCare to myPetCareLE, but only the first car in the database is displayed in myPetCareLE.

Please be sure to make frequent backups of your data! You should always make a backup before installing an update and alway update one device at a time.

Descending Order

 

Service and Trip entries can be displayed in Descending order or Ascending order.

Descending Order is enabled when the switch is in the On position. When the switch is in the Off postion Descending Order is disabled and Ascending order is enabled.

Use Pickers

 

This switch controls the use of Picker Wheels or Number Pads for the entry of numeric data. The Picker Wheels are an interesting effect, but really slow down the data entry process. Use of Number Pads on the other hand is much quicker.

Picker Wheels are enabled when the switch is in the On position.

Picker Wheels are disabled when the switch is in the Off postion and Number Pads are displayed instead.
